BIDEFORD BAPTIST CHURCH DOG POLICY
Dogs professionally trained by a recognised organisation to perform specific tasks are exempt from this policy ie. Guide dogs, Hearing dogs, Medical response dogs etc.
Handlers must:
1) Discourage children from approaching the dog except where permission has been given by the parent/guardian.
2) Clean up any mess created by their dog.
All dogs including assistance dogs must:
1) Be kept on a short lead at all times.
2) Be kept by the side and under control of their handler at all times.
3) Proceed directly to the allocated area(s) and remain there (dogs classed as hypoallergenic are exempt from this rule).
All dogs including assistance dogs must not:
1) Cause a disturbance to the service (barking, whining, etc).
2) Behave inappropriately such as growling, acting aggressively, inappropriate toileting, chewing, etc.
3) Be allowed to approach other people.
4) Be allowed on to any furniture.
Failure to adhere to the above policy may result in being asked to leave the premises and/or refused future entry.
It is the sole responsibility of the handler to ensure that these rules are adhered to at all times.
